If relocating the powertrain in the foremost position (1” forward) in an AWD 996.2/997, it is mandatory that the drive shaft be shortened to accommodate for the decrease in distance between the transmission output flange and the front differential. Being these shafts are friction welded from the factory many will not touch such, with that said we have found a safe and effective way of shortening such which includes a new guibo/flex disc and balance.
